Tom Brady delights fans with surprise visit to Kerry golf club after NFL legend’s popular appearance on Late Late Show

TOM BRADY paid a surprise visit to a Ballybunion golf club on Saturday after his acclaimed appearance on the Late Late Show.

The Kerry club shared pics of the unexpected visit to social media, with the NFL legend taking the time to pose for photos with members and staff.

Ballybunion GC said: “After his appearance on last nights RTÉ’s Late Late show Tom Brady arrived in Ballybunion this morning to visit our magnificent links!

Tom Brady Jr. is an American former professional football quarterback and current sports broadcaster who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 23 seasons.

He spent his first 20 seasons with the New England Patriots and was a central contributor to the franchise’s dynasty from 2001 to 2019.

In his final three seasons, he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is of Irish descent.

His dad’s side of the family emigrated to the United States from Milltown, County Cavan while his mum’s side originally hail from Cork.

It was one of a number of topics that the New England Patriots icon discussed with Patrick Kielty on the Late Late Show.

He said: “The more visits I take here, the more Irish I’m becoming.

“This has been an awesome trip.

“I was here 22 years ago with my Dad for a Father-Son golf trip, and I haven’t been back since.

“Coming back and bringing all the good weather from the States, I’m going to bring more of that when I come.”

The golf theme continued when he outlined his close friendship with Rory McIlroy.

The Holywood man fulfilled his destiny by achieving a career grand slam by winning The Masters at Augusta last month.

Brady is friendly with the Irishman, and paid tribute to his achievement while explaining their friendship.

He said: “It was incredible to watch.

“I am sure you guys were all watching here. Everybody in America is tuned into that tournament. It is so incredible.

“I have been at that course with Rory playing. Shane [Lowry] and his dad, Rory and his dad, me and my dad.

“One of the great highlights of my life is being on a golf course with them.

“Rory kicks my butt every time when we play, obviously.”
