THREE First Division clubs have been found to have fielded ineligible players on the opening night of the season.
Darragh Dunne lined out for Wexford against UCD with Stevan Stanic-Floody playing for Kerry against Finn Harps, who fielded Gavin Hodgins.
It is believed the players were listed on the FAI Connect system which led the clubs to believe that they were eligible for selection.
But none of the three had obtained an International Transfer Certificate which is a requirement for players moving from one jurisdiction to another with the clubs ultimately responsible for ensuring everything is in order.
Dunne had previously played with Swedish outfit Ytterhogdals IK, Stanic-Floody had been on the books of Brisbane City whilst Hodgins had played for Glenavon on loan from Shelbourne.
Wexford had beaten UCD 3-0 but those three points will now be forfeited with College awarded a 3-0 win.

Kerry had recorded a 2-0 victory but, as both teams fielded an ineligible player, the result will be annulled with neither side receiving any points for the fixture.
The decisions have had a major effect on the First Division table with Kerry dropping from seventh to bottom.
Wexford – who had been fourth – sink to second from bottom, behind, ironically, UCD on goal difference.
All three clubs, who were sanctioned by an Independent Disciplinary Committee, have the right to appeal the decision if they choose to.
